Early life[]
Francesco Della Rovere was born in Celle Ligure, Italy. He became a cardinal in 1467 and later succeeded Pope Paul II in 1471 to become the acquire the papal power and became Pope adopting the name Sixtus. He was an ally to Lorenzo the Magnificent for most of his early papal reign however later upon his certain disagreements with the Medici head led to him being at hostile terms with the Medici bank.
