Biography[]
Galeazzo Maria Sforza was born to Francesco Sforza a brutal condottiero (an army genral) and a potent ally to Cosimo de' Medici, who later gained the Milanese Duchy in 1450. Followed by his father's death, Sforza became the Duke of Milan and was referred as Duke Sforza in 1466 until his assassination in 1476. Later his son Gian Galeazzo Sforza who was just seven years old became the Duke with his uncle Ludovico il moro Sforza as his regent.
Sforza had an illegitimate daughter Caterina Sforza Riario from one of his mistresses, as he was much notorious and lustful. His daughter was married to Pope Sixtus's nephew Girolamo Riario, an active plotter of Lorenzo the Magnificent's brother's murder conspiracy.
Sforza was an ally to Lorenzo throughout his reign in Milan.
