Early life[]
Francesco Salviati was born in 1443 in Florence to Bernardo di Jacopo Salviati, a wealthy nobleman from Tuscany. However when young Salviati was orphaned and soon came under the wings of his paternal cousin Jacopo de' Pazzi who paid to educate him in the Curia to become a priest. Salviati who had always believed the Medici bank behind his father's suicide now seeks every opportunity to oppose and create troubles to the Medici.
Season 2[]
Standing alone[]
Enraged upon learning of Lorenzo and his mother leaving Florence to meet the Pope in Rome to seek financial benefits from the papacy, Jacopo de' Pazzi and his nephew Francesco appoint Salviati to sabotage the meeting to be held in Rome. Eventually Salviati succeeds turning the Pope against the Medici head but later much to his dismay Lorenzo marries one of the cardinals's niece Clarice Orsini, while her uncle persuades the Pope to grant the favor to Lorenzo.
Obstacles and Opportunities[]
When Pope Sixtus IV succeeds the demised Pope, Salviati tries to gain favors from the new Pope and thus succeeds in doing so when the Pope appoints him as Archbishop of Pisa, much to Lorenzo's dismay.
